We gave our students a fun little challenge: explain summer school in a creative way after this week. So, we asked Aische, Marleen, and Massuda to break it down for a fellow student. Here are their insights…

“Hey, do you know what a summer school is?”
“Not really, what’s it all about?”
“Well, it’s basically an intensive educational program, usually about a week long, where students and professionals from different countries come together. It’s a great opportunity for intercultural learning and exchanging ideas from different places. In our case, the theme was ‘21st Century Skills,’ so we focused on the skills and competencies that are especially important in today’s world.”
“Sounds cool! What kind of stuff do you actually do there?”
“There’s a pretty structured schedule with a mix of academic, social, and cultural activities. So, aside from the courses, you also get time to explore the location and connect with other participants outside of class. One of the highlights is the excursions – like, we got to visit museums and schools to learn about the history of technology and how education works in other countries.”
“Nice! And does it count towards your studies?”
“Yeah, that’s another big plus. You can earn ECTS credits, and it’s open to students from different fields, so it’s a good chance to grow both academically and personally. Overall, it’s a really valuable experience.”
