We have reached the halfway mark – already?!

And just like that we have already reached the halfway mark in the first cycle of the MOTIVATE! program! What?! Where has the time gone?

Let us tell you…

We have started out strong with a great group of young student teachers eager to expand their knowledge and skills on intercultural teaching aspects. We talked about intercultural communication, what it means to have different cultural backgrounds and how we can be aware of it inside the classroom. For the next couple of months, we discussed digital aspects of teaching in the 21st century and learned about fun ways to incorporate digital tools when working with children. About a week ago we dove into a new and very important topic of teaching: performance, assessment and opportunities. We exchanged views on what assessment and testing looks like in different countries and where the differences between the education systems lie.

During this time the Tandems had the opportunity to get to know each other better while jumping deeper into the topics we had touched on in previous sessions. What was discussed in the tandems among other things, you can read in their own blog entries! Check them out!

It is safe to say that we are very much enjoying getting to know this group of young student teachers and we are looking forward to find out what this program has in store for us until the summer! Did we say summer? YES! Summer means our MOTIVATE! summer school will be right around the corner! We will all get together here in Berlin and experience a week full of fun adventures. You do not want to miss that!

That being said…time sure does fly! Stay tuned for more updates on our MOTIVATE! Blog!
